Treatment Planning

After careful evaluation to ensure the patient is an appropriate candidate for use of the PneumRx® Endobronchial Coil System, the first treatment should be scheduled.

Treatments should target the most damaged lobe (upper or lower) in each lung. In addition to visual assessment, medical history and Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) or other appropriate methods for assessment of emphysematous lung tissue may be used for treatment planning to identify the most appropriate lung lobes for treatment.

Additionally, quantitative CT (QCT) densitometry analysis is emerging as an important tool to identify the most appropriate lung lobe for treatment. QCT densitometry analysis is the most accurate method of measuring parenchymal destruction at the lobar level.1,2

PneumRx offers a QCT Service and can provide you with a lung densitometry report. If you require this service for Coil treatment planning or need more information, please contact your local PneumRx Sales Representative or contact PneumRx Contact Details.
